Start of our European Travellor tour with Trafalgar

Well an early start to our day today meeting down in the lobby of the Park Plaza County Hall hotel with our Trafalgar tour. We then drove to Dover to catch the ferry over to Calais on the P&O ferries which took about 1hour 20 mins. It was then on to our bus which is our home for the week with Giovani at the wheel and Bernie our tour manager. Bernie was full of history information about France and what we should expect on our tour. We arrived in Paris at our Novotel hotel about 4.30 with a bit of free time then off to our welcome dinner with all our new friends. Dinner was at Chez Bruna which was very nice and we got to know some of our fellow travellers. Tonight we were to be going to go up the Eiffel Tower but unfortunately they could only get 49 tickets and there are 50 of us so they needed someone to opt out and of course no one wanted to do that so as Tim and I had already been up it back in 2009 we offered to bow out. So whilst they were up viewing from the tower we were on the ground admiring it. So many sellers of rubbish souvenirs by illegals and the crowds were crazy!! The large green area we remembered from last time was all gone and there was just dead grass left. Huge day out finally in bed at 11.30.
